So I haven't blogged in a month. My last post was June 30 and to be honest with you, it's because I've felt lost with this space. For the majority of this summer, I haven't really known where I want to take this space of mine.

I have such a love for beauty and style but I'm not always 100% sure how to express it. I also question what this space contributes to this community. While I write because it's therapeutic and relaxing for me, I do have a desire to help others through this platform. Otherwise, I would just keep a scrapbook for myself. I want to find a better way of adding my own personal touch, so that it becomes just that much more meaningful.

I want this space to be an expression of who I am as a person. I'm a girl, in her early twenties, trying to finish school and decide what she wants to do with her life. I have all these interests and questions about the world, and I want to use this space to share them with anyone who wants to listen (or read for that matter). 

This summer has been one full of questions. I can't really say it's been a relaxing summer, but it hasn't been hectic either. I feel like I've gone through the motions but haven't lived the life experiences. I want to push myself harder to strive for more and not feel stuck in certain situations. 

Don't like your job? Find a new one. Aren't happy with your life? Try something new. Want to master a new skill? Just. Do. It. I may be a little late to the party but here's to me finally doing the things that make me happy instead of just complaining about certain aspects of my life. 

I'm well aware that this is all easier said then done. However, I think I'm finally in a mental state that is strong enough to push through and accept that I have to make my own decisions for my happiness rather then simply wait for them to fall into my lap.

These photos were taken a while back but I still love the outfit in general and find it perfectly sleek and polished for a summer evening :)

I've had this skirt for a few seasons now and I've completely fallen back in love with it. I first got it for a vacation, thinking that I wouldn't wear it much afterwards, but it's so easy to pair with pieces in my wardrobe, that it's become a true staple.
How can I gush about this top without sounding like a complete mess? I've loved it since the first time I saw it, in a pile of my Mum's old pieces. I noticed the beautiful crochet detailing straight away and knew I'd find interesting ways of wearing it. I also love how it used to belong to my Mum and while I've had it for a few years now, I can pull it out every summer and it never looks dated or out of style.   

This outfit is great because you can wear it super casually (Here) or it pairs really nicely with any heeled sandal for a dressier occasion. I think this look would be perfect for a more casual, outdoor summer wedding. And because the skirt and top are neutral colours, you can pair them with any kind of bright, pop of colour accessory. You could definitely pair this with a rosy-nude heel and a bright red clutch for that extra sparkle to the outfit. 

Also, on a different note, these heels are the most amazing things. They may get dirty quite quickly but they're so comfortable and wearable that the extra time putting into keeping them clean is definitely worth it.

Unfortunately, I got hit with a very unattractive cold last week. While, in the past, I could have let it get the best of me, I tried very hard to be conscious of my emotions. I realized that time was going to be the only true healer of it and impatiently waiting to go back to work wasn't going to make anything better. I packed a bag Friday night and set up to my happy place, the cottage. 

I am very much a city girl, but every now and then it's really nice to escape the madness of the city and enjoy a weekend by the lake.

So, while this new system has only been in effect for a few short days, I feel like I should be happy for the progress. Small baby steps right? :)
My new job has also allowed for new ways of learning. While I've stayed in the same world, a new company has allowed me to learn even more about the industry and how similar companies can operate very differently from one to the other. It has also reassured me tremendously concerning my fears for the future and allowed me to realize that the majority of people in their twenties are simply trying to figure out what they want and how they'll survive to the next day. So while my over thinking mind may not have been able to process that knowledge a few months ago, now that I've had to interact with a new group of people, it's slightly comforting to know that I'm not alone even amongst strangers. Is that train of thought a little too morbid? ;)

I hope you've enjoyed reading this little post; just a thought that has been brewing in my head for the past few months. While I don't have all the answers to my 101 questions, I'm happy to know that I can still go through my daily life figuring them out one day at a time...Hopefully.

 
Yesterday was my first official day off after finals and I have to admit the sun popping out in the afternoon definitely helped put a smile on my face and in getting me to relax. Today, actually brings some exciting, new changes to my summer and while the nerves are very much present, I'm trying not let them get to me.
I'm really excited to get back into the whole blogging habit. I definitely felt the stress of school, work and keeping up with posts this semester and, truth be told, there may have been a case of bad time management skills in the mix. Either way, my goals for this summer are to devote my time to this blog, work and happiness. It's as simple as that.

I feel like I've hit a road block when it comes to organizing my life. Suddenly everything has gotten just a little more hectic and messy. Now I am hoping I'm not the only student who feels this way towards the end of their semester. 

That's why I've been a little sparse with my blogging. Which, I do wish I could put at the forefront of it all but at the end of the day, I've got my priorities shifted in another direction. 

There is so much to be done, that I just need to start. But where do I start? 

That's what takes up most of my time and yet... I could actually be doing what I need to be doing instead of worrying about it. It's completely illogical. My brain has always functioned this way, I've always been a worrier. And while I tell myself I've made progress, I do have moments when I slip up and all the worrying becomes a little too overwhelming.

Maybe this is my way of throwing my worries out into the universe, acknowledging them and thus taking the first step to fixing the problem. 

All I know is that, as I'm writing this, I'm on my way to work and have decided to put my feelings down in writing instead of trying to understand how my brain functions and begin to worry about that.... Baby steps.

Well hopefully, I've made a little sense in this post or I've been able to connect with at least one other person. I hope you are all having a beautiful day<3 The sun is shining here but it's still pretty cold. I'm looking forward to the days when I can just step out in a little spring jacket and not worry about wearing anything that fits for minus degree weather.
